What other patients actually ran into

The guides on this site cover the process. This board is for the parts of the process that only show up in practice — a counter that would not take a passport, a card that would not swipe, a pharmacy that wanted something different from what the hospital said. If you have been through it, write it down. If you are about to, ask.

Every post and every reply is read by a human before it appears — nothing goes up automatically. You can reply to anyone's post, and anyone can reply to yours. Board opened 2026-09-20.

This board is not a way to get medical advice. Do not post your diagnosis, test results, medication or dosages, and do not use it to ask whether a treatment is right for you. Posts of that kind cannot be published, because answering them would mean giving medical advice to someone nobody here has examined. Nobody writing on this site is a doctor. Questions about the mechanics of getting care — booking, paying, paperwork, getting there — are exactly what this board is for.
What gets published. What happened, where, roughly when, and what you did about it. Practical detail is the whole value — the name of the counter, the screen you got stuck on, the document that was asked for. Complaints about a named doctor or hospital, claims about whether a treatment worked, and anything identifying another patient will not be published.

Published posts

Nothing published yet — this board just opened. That is not a broken page. If you have been through a Chinese hospital as a foreign patient, the first post here is worth more than the rest combined: it tells the next person that somebody else has done this too.

Add your experience, or ask a practical question

No account and no email address needed. There is a bot check, and a moderator reads everything before it goes live.

Be specific. “Could not pay at the cashier with a Visa card in Guangzhou” beats “payment problem”.

City, type of hospital, what you tried, what the staff said, how it got resolved. Please leave out anything that identifies you or another patient, and do not include medical details about yourself.

Your post appears only after a moderator approves it. There is no email confirmation, so check back on this page.
